Hello,
Next General Meeting for the public at large is:
July 14th, Monday evening at the Sizzler restaurant. Informal meal (no host) at 6:00pm. Meeting commences at 6:30pm.
I really hate it when businesses or organizations say this, but...
Here we Grow!
Several of you came to the meetings when we were revising our By-Laws and were bored to tears, and freely told us so. The good news is that it is done, and now there are two distinct classes of membership.
Our Associate members are our cheer squad. They are a voice of support, and that's it. We are confident that we will have at least 200 Associate members in the next 6 months. Think Ramona folks should run Ramona lock, stock, and barrel?? Come join us.
Our Contributing members are the engine of the effort. They are the dues paying ($35 a year) regulars with voting rights. These are our committee members. These folks will organize the effort from here through the November 2010 ballot initiative. Now understand..., regular, active participation is NOT required (only desired). This is a volunteer organization. Once we have 50 Contributing members, we will have an election. There will be 3 of the 5 directorship seats up for replacement. Our goal is to give the organization a life of it's own. New blood.
We know many of you are waiting to get the application for membership, so here it is (see attached). Feel free to make copies for other citizens that feel as you do. Let me know if you cannot open and print this. Please send it back into us, or bring it to the next meeting.
We also determined from feedback that fewer meetings were better. So, we now have 3 scheduled meetings a month. The 1st and 3rd Mondays are business meetings for our committees and contributing members. The second Monday of the month is a general meeting for the public, and Associate members, at large.
NEWS FLASH! Menefee PASSED at the ballot! They will become the leaders of their own destiny. We can do it too!
